How come nobody clears the snow away anymore?
Recently I have noticed that nobody bothers clearing the snow away from outside their shops or houses anymore. Before, business owners would make the area outside their shop etc safe by clearing the snow away, I saw 2 elderly people last week slip outside my local post office - it was like an ice -rink.
And why have residents stopped doing the same outside their own houses, it takes 10 minutes!!! My mother slipped and broke her arm on Tufnell Park Road outside someones house.
Come on! Do the right thing - clear the area on the pavement outside your shops and houses next time we get snow- its the neighbourly thing to do, think of the community.

I agree totally, I recall salt never being put on pavements because people did there own clearing - I live on a council estate and when we had a live-in caretaker he would clear all the paths that led through the estate, now we get nothing! We share our caretaker with other estates and are lucky if we see him twice a week. My husband and a couple of neighbours went down and sorted it out in the end. Walking up the road was like taking your life into your own hands especially for the elderly, and I saw many falls. Bring back the good old days

What was more shocking was the staff at the underground station didn't bother to clear the area outside the entrance - not until there had been several falls anyway
