Tufnell Park mum in skydive pledge for autism

A mum of three from Tufnell Park is preparing to plunge 10,000 feet from a plane in a bid to raise £10,000 for The National Autistic Society (NAS), the UK’s leading charity for people with autism and a cause close to her heart.
Jennefer Rose has a three-year-old son with autism so she knows from personal experience the everyday challenges the condition presents.
Jennefer said: “There’s so much misunderstanding about autism and what it actually means to live with the condition. Most people have no idea how common it is or how challenging it can be. When Stanley was diagnosed we really didn’t know which way to turn, but the information and advice we got from The National Autistic Society helped enormously. I decided I wanted to give something back and say thank you for all the support we’d received as a family. I could’ve picked something easier than flinging myself out of an aeroplane, but I always did like a challenge!”
Ella Moffat, events fundraising manager at the NAS, said: “There are over half a million people in the UK with autism – that’s around 1 in 100, the right support at the right time can make an enormous difference to their lives. Jennefer is helping the National Autistic Society to continue to provide that support and I wish her the best of luck in her descent!“
Jennefer will make her tandem jump on Sunday 20 June from Brackley Airfield in Oxfordshire. To support her in her efforts to raise funds for NAS, sponsor her now by visiting www.justgiving.com/Jennefer-Rose
