Hi all you Tufnell Parkers!!
I have just moved into area and want to know what the best pub is - do any of them do live music and which one does the best food? Also whats the nearest nightclub from here?. Let me know! Thanks.

Hi Becky
For excellent food go to the Junction Tavern on Fortess Road and get down to Camden Town for live music - loads and loads of pubs have gig nights never mind KoKo, Barfly and Jazz Cafe. Have fun. Dan. -
Definately agree about the Junction. You might also want to check out the Spagetti House on the corner opposite the tube (don't forget to buy your wine in Threshers first). If you want to stay local for entertainment, The Boston has gigs, comedy and club nights. The Forum is a gentle stroll and has fantastic gigs, the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm is a little further but probably my favourite venue in London. And the Abbey Tavern on Kentish Town Road has accoustic gigs on Tuesday and Sunday nights. Just don't eat there.

The food in The Vine, Highgate Road is superb, though it can get very busy in there - worth a visit anyday.

Visit Pasta Habit on Highgate Road (opposite Vine) great food and great prices - great for hard up students.

The Junction is a staple, excellent beers on tap too. Try the hideaway for a drink up towards archway, they have live music downstairs some evenings and do pretty delicious pizzas.
Agree on Spaghetti House, if you can get a table, the seafood is great. Also, Eat Zone on Fortess Road for supreme thai noodles and currys, cantine style but they have a licence. Try the fresh Lemon Ice Tea. -
The Junction does the best food in the area - nothing comes near it!

The Pineapple on Leverton Street in Kentish Town is my favourite pub in North London. It serves Thai food, which sounds odd in quite a traditional pub, but the food is amazing....

Have to agree that the food and service is excellent at the junction...they do a great sunday roast. However I did go to the Star the other weekend and the food was pretty good, lovely people behind bar and they have a juke box...with lots of good tunes! Worth a visit

For live music I love The Gaff on Holloway Road. They cover all aspects of rock, hardcore, punk etc.
Staff are really friendly, reasonable beers and late license.
Check it out. -
The Lord Palmerston is also very nice. Quite cosy and you can always spot the same faces, which is nice in London. Food is excellent and there's some great local photographs up.
