New play areas for Camden Borough

Posted by news desk in Local News, 15th April 2009, 3:45pm

Government funding has helped to open 12 unique natural play areas across the borough of Camden.

According to Camden Council, natural play areas differ from more traditional playgrounds as they use recycled and sustainable materials, and encourage more adventurous and imaginative play.

Another 16, and a new adventure playground at Kilburn Grange Park, will be ready by April 2010.

The council successfully bid for Wave 1 of the Play Pathfinder money, receiving almost £2.7 million from the Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF).

West Hampstead’s Sumatra Road Playground and Camden Town’s Elm Village, have both benefited from the funding.
